Lecture One: 3 hours
Attachment, parenting styles and it's effects on the brain and body: The patterns of resilience and growth, and of trauma and dissociation.
Dato: Torsdag 24. mars. Kl. 18.00 - 21.00.
Sted: Sagene samfunnshus, Kristiansandsgate 2, Oslo.
Pris: 600 kr.
Med Ana Do Valle
This lecture will address the effects on the brain and the body of different parenting styles and patterns of attachment.
We will look at which styles of parenting supports a health development, resilience, and the capacities of healthy self-regulation and co-regulation.
We will also look at the negative impacts of childhood trauma and dissociation. We will explore the roots of this pattern from infancy (beginning of clinical dissociation) to adulthood symptoms.
We will end the evening with practical exercises helpful in building resilience and regulation in the nervous system.
Outline:
Attachment, the brain and the body.
Parenting styles and attachment.
Secure attachment: Self-regulation and co-regulation.
Insecure and Disorganized Attachment as the blue print of clinical dissociation : case study (video) and group discussion,
Adulthood diseases as a reflection of dysregulation and dissociation (lack of coherence): irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, tics, chronic pain and others.
Activities to counter act dissociation: a sensory integrative approach for healing trauma (group exercise)

Lecture Two: 3 hours
Neurophysiology of Healing: Effective Parenting skills in supporting Self Regulation and Resilience, with a view on the Child’s Nervous System.
Dato: Mandag 28. mars. Kl. 18.00 - 21.00.
Sted: Sagene samfunnshus, Kristiansandsgate 2, Oslo.
Pris: 600 kr.
Med Ana Do Valle
This lecture will build on the previous lecture to address the neurophysiology of trauma/healing.
This model will allow us to understand and utilize strategies to promote balance in the nervous system. We will learn how to identify incoherence (overwhelming behaviors) and facilitate self regulation.
We will explore co-regulation and sensory motor based activities to promote calmness, resilience and social engagement.
Outline
Neurophysiology of Trauma and Healing
Case study: Children at School (video)- Identifying signs of incoherence in the nervous system Steps (neurophysiology) on how to promote self regulation
Group exercise and case study: Sensory Motor based activities to promote resilience and social engagemen

"Ana Dovalle’s work in Sensory Integration provides important tools to help stabilize and “ground” children and adults with deep attachment and regulation problems. In this way she offers essential tools for Somatic Experiencing therapists. Ana shares her rich knowledge and wisdom drawn from her thirty years background as an Occupational Therapist specializing in Sensory Integration. She empowers practitioners to do more effective therapy with some of their most challenging clients. Ana is both a gifted healer and an inspiring teacher, willing to share her knowledge and breadth of experience. I hope that you will avail yourself of her talents, her enthusiasm and her generosity of spirit".
---Peter A Levine, founder of Somatic Experiencing, and author of "awakening the tiger".
